Join us on Nov 8-9 for the 11th Funding the Commons conference. We’ll explore public goods funding, digital innovation, and, for the second time this year, partner with Earth Commons to spotlight environmental stewardship, regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, and decentralized science.
Our program will focus on:
-
Innovation in digital public goods and open web funding, with a focus on impact evaluation and related challenges.
-
Local and regional commons approaches in Southeast Asia.
-
Stewardship and preservation of natural resources, bridging the commons conversation with decentralized science.
-
A showcase of track outcomes from the Chiang Mai Builder Residency and Hackathon.
-
This conference is intentionally designed, with the help of our main partner APAC DAO, to be interactive and hands-on, emphasizing intimate engagement and peer-to-peer learning through interactive workshops, with an intimate main stage area for presentations. There will also be an unconference space for emergent collaboration and peer to peer learning.
General program themes will include:
-
Digital Public Goods and Web3 Funding: Innovation in public goods, funding mechanisms, impact evaluation, and bridging institutional/governmental funding.
-
Infrastructure as a Public Good: Privacy-preserving frameworks, decentralized storage, data economies, and AI ethics.
-
Regional Initiatives in Southeast Asia: Civic tech, urban planning, cooperative housing, and public utilities.
-
Fintech Impact: Crypto-fiat onramps, humanitarian aid, and financial inclusion.
Earth Commons Track:-
Regional Initiatives in Southeast Asia and beyond, such as regenerative land-based projects
-
Weaving technology with indigenous stewardship and wisdom
-
Decentralized Science, AI, IoT, for environmental protection and restoration
-
👉 We will be offering scholarships for this event, with priority given to actively enrolled students. Please send an email to contact@fundingthecommons.io explaining why you should be considered for the scholarship.
